The most important realization in recent years is that pancreatic cancer has lost its terrible face. Thanks to state-of-the-art technologies, minimally invasive procedures and my decades of experience, we can offer our patients the highest level of safety.
In 1980
Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Büchler received his M.D. in Heidelberg. Markus W. Büchler started his surgical training at the Free University of Berlin and later continued at the University of Ulm, where he received his PhD (Habilitation) in 1987. He became deputy hospital director in Ulm in 1991 and received a C2 professorship.
Since 1987
Already since 1987 Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c.. Markus W. Büchler has been working as a specialist in the surgical field. In the 1980s still in Ulm, subsequently in Bern and Heidelberg, now as Director of the Pancreatic Cancer Center at the Champalimaud Foundation and also as Director of the Surgical Oncology.

Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c.. Markus W. Büchler became Director of the Pancreatic Cancer Center at the Champalimaud Foundation. He also became Director of the Surgical Oncology Clinic.
